Torpedo attack on HMCS Esquimalt

She is sunk a few days before the end of the Second World War, which ends with U-190's surrender to Canadian forces. On October 21, 1947, in tribute to this Canadian minesweeping ship's crew, U-190 is shelled and sunk by the Royal Canadian Navy near the torpedoing site of the HMCS Esquimalt.
